Ethics
Most clearly the essence of
relationships between participants of network community has been
expressed by Joel M. Podolny and Karen L. Page:
-
"One of the basic
differences of the network form of organization from traditional
one is in the ethical or value orientations of its participants;
-
The central element is "the
spirit of good will" which means use of "voice" instead of "force"
for problem solving, and also high level of trust between
participants...;
-
Norms of mutual respect
underlie the network organization (the relations between
participants are based on undestanding of responsibility and
self-discipline, no one is trying to use the existing trust for
profit making);
-
Members of the network
organization make up "moral community" in which the confidential
behavior , understanding of normative standards are essential,
and opportunism is predetermined."
